The Solent LEP have an ambition to work with all secondary schools and colleges across the area, partnering each of these with a volunteer Enterprise Adviser.
Delivered in partnership with the Careers & Enterprise Company - an employer-led organisation set up to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work - the Enterprise Adviser Network takes an umbrella view of the landscape of careers and enterprise, supporting programmes that work, filling gaps in provision and ensuring coverage across the country.
Enterprise Advisers are being recruited from local businesses and organisations and will be working at a strategic level alongside the schools' senior management teams. The aim of these partnerships is to evaluate the existing careers and enterprise work taking place in the schools and develop activity plans to ensure that the best local provision can be accessed, helping to better prepare their students for the world of work.
The Enterprise Advisers we are working with have said:
"...Having my old school take me on as an EA has gone very well, they are open to my ideas and advice as to what businesses need today..."
"...I became an Enterprise Adviser because I want to share my knowledge and experience and give something back. I would like children to have options and alternatives to reach their aims and aspirations..."
