Bringing local employers, skills providers and other key stakeholders together, the panel will help to enhance the Solent LEPs understanding and ability to address key local skills challenges, ensuring the Solent has a workforce fit for the future.
The Solent LEP board plays an integral role in providing the leadership and setting the strategy for the area. To support the delivery of this ambition, the LEP is establishing a Skills Advisory Panel to bring together local employers and skills providers to pool knowledge on skills and labour market needs, in particular working together to understand and address key local challenges.
The LEP is looking to recruit a broad range of expertise across key industries and has positions available for a number of private sector leaders from both large and small businesses. The LEP is particularly keen to hear from individuals with expertise in marine and maritime, the visitor economy, high technology manufacturing, including aerospace, transportation and logistics, construction and digital and creative.
Alongside the opportunity for local business leaders to join the Skills Advisory Panel, the LEP are also very keen to receive applications from private sector training providers, the voluntary and community sector and other organisations providing support to pre-16 year olds.
Applications will close at 23:59 on Friday 27 September 2019.
