We are setting aside £105,000 for a new Isle of Wight Rural Fund, which when added to the £225,000 already committed, brings the total support for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) on the Island to £330,000 this financial year.
The additional funding for the Isle of Wight Rural Fund, which is managed by Natural Enterprise on behalf of the LEP, will make grants available to rural SMEs of between £2,500 and £50,000, representing up to 50 percent of the total project costs. All projects need to create or protect jobs to be eligible. Those projects that can create or protect a higher number of jobs will be prioritised, and they need to demonstrate how they will benefit the Isle of Wight’s rural economy.
