Portsmouth City Council's seafront strategy revealed that the top of the public's agenda for the seafront was better quality places to eat and drink that were open all year round.

So when the opportunity arose to bid on several unused council buildings along the seafront Ian Clarke submitted a tender and Southsea Beach Café was created.

The café serves home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as drinks. BTG funding was requested to support the planned opening of the café.
