Solent LEP to meet with Business at new Island Office

15 March 2016

The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is offering one-to-ones with Island Businesses thanks to a new partnership with the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce.

From 19th April, the LEP team will be holding meeting with Island businesses every three weeks at a new Island office, hosted by the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce in Newport.

The team will be on hand to meet with Island Businesses to discuss any aspects of LEP work; from what the LEP is doing to where to go to find funding and support. The LEP team are also keen to hear from Island Businesses about their thoughts on the Island economy and where future support  may be needed to unlock growth.

Gary Jeffries, Solent LEP Chairman, said:

The Isle of Wight will be home to some of our most exciting investments in 2016; including construction of our £10.9m Centre of Excellence for Composites and the first business projects funded under our Isle of Wight rural SME fund which launched last month.

Our new Island LEP office will make it much easier for businesses that want to find out more about our work to meet with us and we are extremely grateful to our colleagues at the Isle of Wight Chamber for making this possible. The team are looking forward to meeting with many of our innovative Island businesses over the coming year.

Kevin Smith, Chief Executive of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce, said:

The Chamber are delighted to be hosting the Solent LEP team here on the Island. When it comes to business, we know that there is nothing quite like a face-to-face meeting. We want to make sure that it is easy for Island Businesses to engage by bringing the LEP team to them.

Isle of Wight business meetings will be held every 3 weeks and available dates are published here. Sessions are now open for bookings.
