Located in Fareham and Gosport (at PO13 9FU) the Enterprise Zone currently has two new business parks:

Daedalus Park which mainly provides new premises for sale or lease for small and growing businesses https://www.daedaluspark.co.uk/; and

Faraday Business Park which offers new commercial property or serviced land for sale or lease including a dedicated area for aviation-related and aerospace businesses seeking access to the airfield with its newly resurfaced runway. Design and build options are available by arrangement with the landlord http://www.solentairport.co.uk/business_parks/faraday.aspx

Business units at Daedalus Park:

A range of new business hangars with direct access to the runway at Solent Airport is now available. Go to the letting agents for details of property available at PO13 9FU at https://www.lsh.co.uk/commercial-property-search

The airport: Daedalus includes Solent Airport http://www.solentairport.co.uk/intro.aspx which has an operational all-weather runway catering currently for small business aircraft, maintenance services and club flying.   The airport is home to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency's Search and Rescue Services serving the coast of southern England.

A new education and innovation campus at Daedalus: An advanced engineering college, the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing Skills Training (CEMAST) http://www.fareham.ac.uk/cemast/ was opened by Fareham College in September 2014 supported by loan funding from Solent LEP and Hampshire County Council grant, which provides over 1000 employer-orientated training places for students in aviation, marine, vehicle and electronic engineering.  The College, https://www.fareham.ac.uk/college-overview/ which is rated OFSTED 'outstanding' and is 2018 FE College of the Year, has recently opened a new training centre for civil engineering and ground working skills, CETC, for which new premises are under construction at Daedalus.

Fareham College's Centre of Excellence for engineering training, CEMAST

The Fareham Innovation Centre opened in May 2015 providing both office and small workshop units https://www.fareham-ic.co.uk/. The Centre has been hugely successful and an extension that more than doubles its size was opened in April 2018 with investment by Fareham Borough Council and grant support from Solent LEP. The Centre specialises in high tech and engineering businesses and is managed by Oxford Innovation who provide business development and mentoring services to companies at the Centre, including new start-ups and micro businesses. The Innovation Centre is now designated part of the UK Space Incubator network https://www.oispace.co.uk/ working on downstream space applications in a partnership between Oxford Innovation, the UK Space Agency, Ordnance Survey, Southampton University and business. The extended Centre now offers conferencing facilities for up to 100 delegates.

Future developments at Daedalus: Our future development proposals are a new Swordfish business park comprising 22,000 m2 of commercial development space, which will have a dedicated area for aviation businesses needing access to the runway.   Swordfish will be able to accommodate large commercial units and would be suitable for businesses requiring secure premises; a completely new coastal development in Gosport - the Waterfront area of the Enterprise Zone -which currently has new serviced plots available for development. This is a mixed use regeneration site currently being master-planned with stunning views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, water access via a slipway and is already home to marine manufacturing businesses.   A further 20 acres of mixed use development will provide investment opportunities for hotel, leisure or retirement uses including the possibility of conversion of spectacular listed buildings.   One hundred new homes have already been built at the Waterfront and a further 200 are under construction and will be delivered over the next two years under Homes England's Accelerated Construction Initiative.
