Richard is Chair of the South Hampshire Bus Operators Association which brings together all the bus companies in the region and works to promote the value of public transport.
Richard has worked in the bus and coach industry throughout his career, serving for ten years as Managing Director of First Hampshire & Dorset, and later of FirstGroup's businesses in Greater Manchester. Subsequently he became the Group's Strategy Director for northern England, in which position he led the development of ground breaking multi-operator partnership initiatives with the transport authorities across the regions aimed at delivering increased use of public transport.
Richard returned to his home in the south in 2014, establishing his own transport consultancy business. He also works in the pensions sector and is Chairman of a large occupational pension fund.
Richard is a Chartered Director, and Fellows of both the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Institute of Directors.
Anne-Marie Mountifield is the Chief Executive of the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership an organisation which works collaboratively with partners across the 12 Solent Local councils, businesses, colleges and the Universities to help shape the region’s future economic growth. Her role is to lead the Solent LEP towards its objective to make Solent a £30 billion economy by 2020, whilst working to deliver an investment plan for the area worth £1.51 billion over the same period.
For more than 20 years of her career, Anne-Marie has held senior executive leadership posts in Further Education, the Civil Service (for the Department of Business Innovation an Skills) and Local government before taking up the role at Solent LEP as Chief Executive in 2012.
Her professional background started in industry, moving on to further education and skills and local government before taking up her current role where she leads on the roll out of the Solent £1bn Capital & Infrastructure programme.
Anne-Marie is a member of the Institute of Directors and is also a member of the Web Science Institute Advisory Board. In 2017 Anne-Marie was also appointed to the Board of Maritime UK which is a body that brings together the UK’s shipping, ports, services, engineering and leisure marine industries to promote the maritime sector.
Brian is the UK Business Development Director at BAE Systems Naval Ships and brings a wealth of private sector experience to his role as Board Director at the Solent LEP, with over 20 years' experience in the Marine and Maritime sector at organisations such as Thales, Marconi and the aforementioned BAE Systems. Brian was previously Chair of the Solent LEP Marine and Maritime Steering Group before joining the Solent LEP Board. Brian is also the Chair of the British Naval Equipment Association council and on the board of the Society of Maritime Industries.
Since July 2012, David has led the Economic Development function of Hampshire County Council, with key areas of activity including Business Growth, Regeneration and Tourism.
Prior to taking up his current role in Hampshire, for over 10 years he held senior economic development positions for the City of Sheffield, both as Director, Investment & Marketing for Sheffield First for Investment (2002-2007) and as Director, Business Investment for Creative Sheffield (2007-2012).
The earlier part of David's career was entirely in the private sector, including senior business development roles in the construction sector at HBG (now BAM) and George Wimpey plc.
He is a Chartered Marketer and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University of Technology.
Bernie is the Chief Operating Officer at the University of Portsmouth. This role oversees a range of services, including Estates & Campus Services, Information Services, Academic Registry, Marketing and Communications, the University Library and Sports and Recreation and she is a member of the University’s Executive Board.
Before joining the University in December 2013, Bernie was Chief Executive of Eastleigh Borough Council. The majority of her career has been spent in local government, either in corporate management or economic development and regeneration, and she has held Director level roles in Portsmouth City Council and the Borough of Poole.
Bernie is a graduate in English from the University of Southampton and subsequently gained an MBA from the University of Plymouth.
Born in Bournemouth, Phil has been married for nearly 20 years with one young daughter who keeps both parents busy.
Phil graduated from Brunel University with an Economics (Hons) degree and joined British Rail in 1990 as a Management Trainee. His 27 year career has included project managing the new station and train service at Chandler’s Ford, 2012 Games Delivery Champion for SWT and introducing 10 car railway on the Salisbury to Waterloo services.
Overall career to date spans operational railway experience, incident response, station management, project management, franchise work, Accessibility, Community Rail and partnership working with stakeholders including other transport operators, LEP’s, Councils, Businesses, MP’s and community groups.
Phil is a keen sportsman and has been Dorset County Champion in Racketball, represented British Rail at the World Corporate Games as well as supporting his local football team.
He is the main link between the train operator and stakeholders with the aim to identify opportunities for partnership working and ensure that stakeholders are kept fully informed on the latest railway developments and information.
Phil is currently Stakeholder Manager for the South Western Railway.
Allan has worked in the property and construction industry for more than 40 years, leading businesses delivering high profile commercial and residential developments across the South.
Allan spent over 30 years working at Warings Contractors Limited which then became Bouygues first construction company acquisition in the UK. His final role at Bouygues UK was Director with responsibility for Business Development and Pre-Construction. Allan worked on many developments across both the private and public sectors in areas ranging from education, commercial, airports, hotels, student accommodation and mixed used developments. Notable recent projects include the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth, the mixed use developments at City Gateway and Admirals Quay, the later consisting of three contemporary apartment towers, retail and restaurant units both located in Southampton.
In his current role at National Regional Property Group, Allan is the Managing Director with responsibility for the overall management of the business and particularly the pre-contract stage of property development projects, ensuring everything is overseen with precision and a clear strategy so all stakeholders have confidence in the outcome.
In addition to his role as a director at National Regional Property Group, Allan is chairman of Shaping Portsmouth’s Developers Group and plays a key role in the Hampshire County Council and Business South backed Regenerate South Group. He also sits on the Solent LEP’s Property and Infrastructure Delivery Panel.
Outside the world of work Allan enjoys spending time on the water or in the gym but also has a large, mainly female family, with two grandchildren. He enjoys attending Formula 1 racing and music events around the world as the centrepiece of his holidays when time allows.
