Solent Construction Skills Working Group

Summary:

Welcome to the launch of this new Solent Construction Skills Working Group. If you are a business providing services / products within the Construction sector this group is open to you. This will be an employer led group where you have the opportunity to hear about new developments in the sector, share challenges and collaborate to find solutions. The Construction sector in our region is thriving and vital for the Solent, and Solent LEP is delighted to be involved this initiative bringing together strategic partners.

At this first session we will focus on the challenges and barriers around apprenticeship / traineeship recruitment, how to liaise with local training providers and open up discussions around the skills gaps in the sector, and what support you need to find and recruit new talent. We welcome you from any size business, whether you have recently started up your own business or are a larger company in the sector, we want to hear your thoughts and for you to shape this group.
