Further Information

Solent Local Enterprise Partnership Ltd has been registered as a company, limited by guarantee and has three categories of Membership:

  • Business (B) Membership – for businesses
  • Public Authority (P) Membership – for local authorities
  • Higher Education (H) Membership – for higher education institutions

A full list of our current membership is available here.

Our Business Members are integral to the shaping the work of the LEP. They vote on any changes proposed to our Articles of Association - which govern the way the Company operates - and they elect our eight Business Directors to the LEP Board to lead the strategic direction of the organisation.

Business Members also have the opportunity to become directly involved in the work of the Solent LEP in many ways; including supporting the delivery Panels that lead on the LEPs priority areas of work.

Business Membership of the Solent LEP is open to any business currently undertaking professional, business or other commercial activities with a view to profit within the Solent LEP area.

There is no cost or membership subscription fee associated with Solent LEP Membership, however, we ask that all of our Members are prepared to support the work of the Solent LEP in some way: this may be through volunteering the time of a senior representative to take on a role on the LEP Board or one of our delivery panels, or contribute to the work of the LEP in other ways such as donation of services or hosting of meetings and events.

Business Membership is not open to representative organisations. Representative organisations seeking to engage with the Solent LEP may want to consider joining the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Business Alliance (HIBA). Further information on our work with HIBA is available here. You can find more information about HIBA here.
