Talent Pipeline

Now more than ever the Solent economy needs a skilled workforce. All too often young people leave education not really understanding local jobs and careers whilst employers frequently tell us they can't attract young people into their industry.

We need employers to help us showcase the great careers young people can aspire to in the Solent.

We are working together with Speakers for Schools to deliver Talent Pipeline, a new virtual work experience programme for young people in the Solent.

Talent Pipeline is a great opportunity for employers to influence their future workforce. Supporting students who have missed out on experiencing the world of work and the chance to develop key employability skills, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Any sized business can get involved in either an Insight Day or a longer Three Day Virtual Work Experience and we will support your business to develop an impactful programme that works for you.

From the virtual experience opportunities young people could:

    • Meet a range of people within your organisation

    • Perform a task or produce a piece of work relevant to the organisation

    • Receive feedback from the employer

    • Be able to ask questions and get an insight into the business/sector

We will support you with suggestions for the programme such as:

    • Sharing the history of the organisation, different staffs career journeys or possible pathways into the organisation/sector

    • Having a virtual tour of the premises and/or running a Q&A session

    • Pitching a project proposal

    • Providing top tips on how to improve employability skills or CV
