TfSE Freight Strategy Scoping Study Workshops

TfSE region has international significant transport gateways including the busiest international ro-ro port in Europe based on volume (Dover) and the UK’s largest export port (Southampton).

Furthermore, freight and logistics is itself a key contributor to the TfSE / UK economy and vital for growth in the region and the wider UK. Development of the Freight, Logistics and Gateways Strategy and the associated delivery plan will allow us to plan for future freight demands and enable us to incorporate this into our wider Transport Strategy.

TfSE will lead these workshops and has appointed AECOM (a leading transportation and engineering consultancy) as our delivery partner.

Aim of the workshops

The overall aims of the workshops are to:

· Enabling stakeholders to provide input into the scope of the Freight Strategy

· Ensuring support for the direction of the Freight Strategy

· Developing the scope for the delivery mechanisms including a Freight Forum
