Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and businesses from across the Solent region are being offered free support to develop their skills, through a new business mentoring scheme by the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership.
Mentoring is being offered from expert business leaders for specific industries, including the visitor economy, manufacturing, the creative and tech industries, and those wanting to reach Net Zero.
Paula Swain, Solent LEP Business Director, and SME supporter, said:
“This new business mentoring support programme provides a valuable opportunity for businesses in the visitor economy, manufacturing, Net Zero, creative and tech industries to work with mentors with the expertise and experience to guide them towards sustained growth and business resilience.
“We want people to apply to receive support from business leaders from relevant sectors, to strengthen their own personal skills, and subsequently to increase the buoyancy of their businesses.
“This initiative reflects the priorities for economic growth set out in our Solent 2050s strategy. The programme will not only benefit the SMEs taking part, but it will also provide more opportunities for all our communities to flourish.”
Those accepted onto the business mentoring programme will receive 12 hours of one-to-one support and will be matched with a business leader mentor who has experience in their specific industry.
Business mentors will share their diverse expertise and personal experience in growing, supporting, and leading successful businesses. Each session will be tailored to meet bespoke goals and objectives, helping to overcome barriers to growth, launch products, lead successful teams, or create strategies to enter new markets.
