Maritime UK Solent (MUK Solent) the regional sector-based cluster and employer representative body is holding its next network meeting on 18 April as part of the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) Ocean Business 2023 exhibition and training forum.
The session will include a fascinating group of three speakers who will explore a sustainable and responsible circular economy approach to business, the development of Net Zero Oceanographic Capability (NZOC) as well as looking at the green skills requirements for the maritime sector.

Teams from MUK Solent, the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership's (LEP) Careers Hub, and the newly formed Institute of Technology, are taking part in the NOC’s Ocean Business 2023 exhibition and training forum taking place between 18-20 April. The conversation for the region will focus on how green maritime skills are becoming more essential in the development of future ocean technology, and how to reach the Solent's communities so that they are aware of these exciting new opportunities.

Stuart Baker, MUK Solent Managing Director is attending to speak about the future skills for the maritime sector; and Lorna Wagner, MUK Solent Programme Manager, will give a talk about how to find your way into a rewarding career in maritime. Together these partners with the National Oceanography Centre, aim to bring the maritime sector closer to education, to inspire the future workforce to take up future green roles in the marine industry.
This Ocean Business event is a global meeting place to connect with maritime science professionals, to learn about the latest surveying innovation and autonomous systems, and to share ideas to help define the future of ocean technology.
