Solent LEP announces free mentorship programme for Solent tech businesses

23 September 2022

The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has partnered with TechSolent for The Tech Growth Programme, which connects early stage Solent-based tech businesses with business leaders from within the sector, so they can benefit from their diverse expertise and personal experience growing, supporting and leading successful tech businesses.

For businesses looking to overcome barriers to growth, launch new products, lead successful teams or create strategies to enter new markets, the free programme can be tailored to meet individual goals and objectives.

Anne-Marie Mountifield, Solent LEP Chief Executive, said:
“We are incredibly excited to work with TechSolent for the launch of this new business support programme. It provides a unique opportunity for Solent tech businesses, at any stage in their development, to gain valuable support, advice and insight from experienced mentors who have led a successful business and are passionate about supporting the region’s tech sector and seeing it thrive.”

The mentors, who are all volunteers from the TechSolent network, have experience and expertise in a wide variety of different areas within the field of tech and digital transformation. The programme is accessible through the Solent LEP Growth Hub, who match applicants with a mentor whose experience they can benefit from most. The mentors include:

• Andrew King – a former divisional director in Oracle, Microsoft and Computer Sciences Corporation, who has considerable experience in the profitable development of technology companies and most recently was the senior vice president at Invensys PLC.
• Mark Nicoll – CEO of Get PiPxr, who holds six years’ experience in software development and specialises in marketing automation, B2B gamification, AR/VR and implementing games into everyday software.
• Nicholas DaCosta-Greene – whose experience in corporate IT procurement management led him and his team to create and build one of the South Coast’s fastest growing IT support companies: Curatrix Technologies

Companies in the Solent region whose purpose is to bring new technological products or services to market, or deliver existing ones in new and innovative ways, are eligible for the free support. Businesses can register for the Tech Growth Programme by clicking here.
