Two Solent LEP Board members have signed up for a fundraising initiative that will see them spend the night outside to help raise money for charity.
Solent LEP Chairman, Gary Jeffries, and Chief Executive, Anne-Marie Mountifield, will both spend the night sleeping outside to encourage people to pledge their support to the fundraising project, Pompey CEO Sleepout.
The initiative asks business leaders in the South to give up their beds for one night and sleep out to experience what it is like to be homeless. The pair will be sleeping rough at Fratton Park on the night of April 16, 2018 and are currently collecting sponsorship in preparation.
The money raised will be split between three worthy causes: Hampshire-based homelessness charity the Society of St James, Pompey in the Community and national initiative CEO Sleepout.
Solent LEP Chief Executive, Anne-Marie Mountifield, said:
“This is the time of year when raising awareness of homelessness is so important. We really hope that we can help to raise a large amount of money for these three worthy causes and help draw the public’s attention to this critical issue.”
Solent LEP Chairman, Gary Jeffries, said:
“By raising awareness and working with business, we can help tackle homelessness in the region. We really hope that business leaders from across the South will join us in showing support for this great initiative.”
