Solent LEP working in partnership to help keep Solent businesses moving

03 February 2021

The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), in partnership with Newable, and supported by The Department for International Trade South East (DIT), has produced 'Post EU Transition Service', a series of free virtual events designed to help Solent businesses adapt now that the United Kingdom has left the European Union.

The Solent LEP is working with Newable to provide a set of online sessions to help businesses adapt in the post-EU business environment.

The first event, taking place this Friday 5 February 2021, will support businesses adjusting to the new trading landscape, with tailored guidance to navigate the changes and to keep them operating. The event will be hosted by Robert Lewtas, Strategic Partner Manager, Newable Trade. During the event our expert speakers will discuss many key topics such as employment, trade, intellectual property, travelling to and from the EU, and much more.

Ketevan Moseshvili, Managing Director, Business Development Advice, Newable Trade said:  “It is vitally important that businesses act now to ensure they are following the new trading rules which came into effect in January. Newable is delighted to be supporting the first Post EU Transition Service event this week and very much looking forward to helping businesses prepare for the new landscape.

Businesses in the region, whatever their size or which sector they are in, will experience changes to how they can trade and operate and we’re doing our best to ensure that they feel well equipped for the future.”

Brian Johnson the Chair of the Solent LEP said: "Responding quickly and effectively to the various challenges facing businesses in the Solent has always been an integral part of what we do at the LEP. Most recently we have been establishing tools and funding to help businesses rise above the Covid-19 pandemic and to navigate their way through the new rules now that the UK has left the EU. These 'Post EU Transition' webinars are designed to provide practical advice and support, and is aimed at helping businesses navigate the new rules."

There are two additional events planned to take place on Tuesday 16 February, one is due to focus on the Marine & Maritime, and the other one is for the Advanced Engineering sector. Attendees will hear from industry experts on updates following the EU transition.
