The Solent LEP is calling on business with experience at a senior and strategic level to join become panel members to help deliver economic growth and develop a world-class talent base in the region. Candidates are invited to apply for voluntary roles on the Skills Advisory Panel and the Business Support Investment Panel which contribute to shaping long-term success for the region.
The Solent LEP Skills Advisory Panel (SAP) includes private sector representatives from key sectors and is seeking applications from private sector representatives, the Community and Voluntary sector and private sector training provider representatives.
SAP members strengthen the capability of the Solent LEP to carry out analysis used to identify the priority skills and employment needs of the Solent economy, its businesses and resident workforce to ensure local industries have the skills they need to prosper, and young people have opportunities for fulfilling careers. Alongside continuing to provide strategic skills advice to the Solent LEP, the Skills Advisory Panel will also play an important role leading the development of skills activity for Solent Freeport and helping to inform and steer the Solent Local Skills Improvement Plan.
The Solent LEP is also seeking applications from private sector representatives and from the Community and Voluntary sector to join the Business Support Investment Panel (BSIP). The Solent LEP operates a range of business support funding programmes and BSIP makes decisions on applications for Business Support Funding up to £100k and on an advisory basis for funding applications over £100k. BSIP also advises on the LEP’s strategic approach to business support investment and the Solent LEP's delivery of funded programmes of activity.
